It’s a pleasure to report that J.C Booth Middleโs Lara Otico made us proud by winning 2nd place in her grade level and 1st place overall for In-Person Presentation, thanks to her project, The Plapper. Lara’s invention is remarkable because it utilizes invasive plants like kudzu to make beautiful paper. Lara’s project highlights the importance of sustainability and finding innovative ways to use natural resources that might otherwise be considered waste. We’re thrilled that her hard work and dedication to the project have paid off!
Erica Bourque and Driola Hoti of McIntosh High also represented Peachtree City remarkably by winning 3rd place in their grade-level project, Plant Dock. The survival of crops is an essential aspect of our daily lives, and these outstanding students recognized this fact by inventing a buoyant container that helps protect crops from flood damage. It’s so great to see the creativity and innovation that can come even from high school students. Congratulations to Erica and Driola on their accomplishment!
