Peachtree City’s Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Georgia Warbird Museum recently received the prestigious TravelBlazers Award for its role in the new Georgia World War II Heritage Trail. As an advocate for teaching the history of WWII, the museum hosts the oldest and largest WWII-themed event in Georgia every year. So remarkable is this event that it has been designated a Top-20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society. This year’s Heritage Days will take place on Saturday, October 9th, and provides an incredible opportunity to get up close and possibly even inside these warbirds that were key to America’s victory in World War II. Although the museum is currently closed to the public, it will open in the fall and promises to be a spectacular celebration of The Greatest Generation and their immeasurable contributions to American and world history.
