Peachtree City, located just south of Atlanta, has hosted its July 4th parade for 50 years. What started as a small gathering of participants has grown into an event that attracts more than 10,000 people yearly. The Peachtree City July 4th parade has become a cherished tradition in the community, bringing residents and neighbors together to celebrate our nation’s independence. Last year, the Peachtree City July 4th parade included 125 entries, with participants from Peachtree City and Fayette County. The parade organizers award trophies for several categories, including the Mayor’s Trophy, Most Creative, Most Patriotic, Grand Marshal Trophy, and the top three spots for golf cart entries. Entries are judged by three independent judges, with awards presented at the first city council meeting following July 4.
Registration is now being accepted from companies and citizens in Peachtree City interested in participating in the parade. On May 22, the registration period will begin for firms and individuals residing in Fayette County. Participants may register at https://peachtree-city.org/126/Recreation-Special-Events. You should sign up as soon as possible since there is limited spaceโthe last day to register before the deadline is June 20.
The Peachtree City Fourth of July parade steps out at nine in the morning at the intersection of Pinehurst Drive and Peachtree Parkway. The procession begins at the McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex and travels down Peachtree Parkway for 1.8 miles before making a left turn onto McIntosh Trail and coming to a conclusion. The parade route provides great viewing sites, including many shaded areas and high vantage points from which to see the procession.
People return to the neighborhood year after year to participate in the parade and enjoy the festivities since it has developed into an annual tradition.
